Catch up with your old favourites
This month on twitter the Superfast Leicestershire team have been delving into the topic of the nations favourite shows and the ones we cannot help but watch over and over again. From Absolutely Fabulous, to Peep Show, via the IT Crowd, and some real throwbacks like Dinnerladies, Blackadder, and The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, some shows stay with us.
Unfortunately unless you have an amazing tv package and the choice of millions of tv channels many of us rely on pixelated Youtube clips, dvds (or even vhs recordings!) and our memories to re-live our favourite tv moments.
Thankfully our love of watching our favourite shows has been recognised by some of the biggest players in the television market, whether it be through online box sets available on 4od, BBC iplayer, or ITV player, streaming apps through your tv, dedicated services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, or through amazing tv packages, there are so many ways in which fibre broadband can help deliver amazing tv and movies straight to your front room.
We in the Superfast Leicestershire team are proud to be upgrading Leicestershire residents to fibre broadband which means they have access to stream these shows in a matter of seconds.
Fibre broadband not only offers faster speeds than traditional copper lines but connections are more reliable too, so alongside eliminating buffering there is no risk of having to turn your router off and on again in the middle of your show.
If you still need convincing of the fantastic benefits of upgrading to fibre broadband we have spoken to several residents and local businesses who have upgraded and what that meant for the their home and work life. Visit our Case Study pages to read about how people from all corners of the county are using their new superfast broadband connection.
96% of Leicestershire can already upgrade to superfast fibre broadband, the total list of areas that have received an upgrade to fibre through the Superfast Leicestershire programme can be found on our When and Where page .
The upgrade to fibre is not automatic, if you want to upgrade to fibre talk to your provider about upgrading or shop around on comparison sites for the best deal and speed package for you. Read our top tips on upgrading .
You can keep up to date with the Superfast Leicestershire team on the Leicestershire County Council twitter by visiting #SuperfastLeics and on the council’s Facebook and Instagram pages, where the team are also on hand to answer any questions you have about the programme.
Which only leaves one decision to make; what are you watching tonight?
